The grandest, most outrageous spectacle in the comedy universe. Good versus evil. Punchlines versus clotheslines.
Comedians. Wrestlers. Blood.
THE WRESTLING II:
CHORTLE - ”A highlight of the Fringe”
THE TELEGRAPH - ”An idea so brilliant it’s a wonder no-one thought of it sooner”
AUGUST 13th // 11pm // PLEASANCE GRAND
It’s back! Comedians. Wrestlers. Blood. The Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning megashow, Chortle’s #1 event of 2011, invades the Pleasance Grand for one night only, in a death-defying clash between good and evil. Old scores must be settled. New blood will be spilled. Tables may be treated irresponsibly. Take a deep breath and prepare yourself: actual, massive wrestlers, battling Edinburgh’s best comedians, in an actual wrestling ring. 2011′s chair-swinging, ankle-breaking, sell-out spectacular just got even better. Booking essential. ‘Genius’ ***** (List). ‘Genius’ (Times). ‘A truly awesome event’ ***** (Chortle.co.uk).
It was the most outrageous night the Pleasance Grand has ever seen. 20 comedians, 8 wrestlers, a sold-out audience of 770 people, and one broken ankle (Max’s). Astonishingly, not only did no-one die, it won the Edinburgh Comedy Awards Panel Prize.
CHORTLE - ”A truly awesome event.”
THE LIST - ”One of the best events on the Fringe.”
FRINGE REVIEW - ”The Wrestling is destined to become a Fringe institution – it was undoubtedly the ticket to have this year.”
