Good lord! We had a wonderful sunny weekend at the Buxton Fringe a few weeks ago – we performed our Edinburgh show, ‘Max and Ivan Are Holmes and Watson’ to lovely sold-out crowds, and hung out with our phenomenally generous Couch Surfing hostess, Ansty (seriously – we got double beds and a cooked breakfast. A++++, would surf again). Then we came back to angry, smog-filled London and thought nothing more about it.
HOWEVER – the festival has just finished, and it turns out we’ve won their ‘Best Comedy’ award! Magnificent stuff; thank you people of Buxton! It’s a beautifully auspicious boost en route to Edinburgh (which is literally a week away. Good god) – and the best bit is we still haven’t quite finished editing the show. Let’s do this.

It’s at the O2 in Greenwich, it’ll be in a swanky club of some kind, and it’s going to be more fun than getting baked with N-Dubz and the [...]
“This is the worst call and response game ever!” And rightly so. But you might also say “Latitude”, which is the name of the stonkingly-awesome festival we’re performing at this week. I don’t need to ramble on – you’re aware of Latitude, of course you are. This year’s line-up is arousing: personal highlights from across the board include Bombay Bicycle Club, Eels, Modern Toss, Tim Crouch, non zero one (Ivan’s outrageously successful and cool emerging theatre [...]
Yes, two shows counts as a run! And, due to an admin error, we actually sold 120% of the seats on the second night, which was nice. Much like the world’s oceans ‘Max and Ivan are… Holmes and Watson’ is getting slicker every day, and although we don’t have any more full previews scheduled before Edinburgh, you can be sure that on Wednesday 3rd August we’re going to bust out the best bloody show we’ve [...]
